LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project

The 7th Multi-stakeholder Catchment Forum in the framework of LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS „In cooperation for climate-conscious river basin management” project was held in Bátya, Hungary on 29/02/2024.

The event was attended by local mayors, municipality staff, farmers, water sector and civil stakeholders. Five presentations were given, including Prof. Judit Mádl-Szőnyi and Soma Oláh: Water crisis looming over our heads! A solution under our feet? – The importance of groundwater in mitigating the negative impacts of climate change representing the National Multidisciplinary Laboratory for Climate Change project RRF-2.3.1-21-2022-00014. The presentation focused on the Tóthian modern hydrogeology and groundwater retention methods based on it, including Nature-based managed aquifer recharge (NABA-MAR)© innovation developed by ELTE researchers. Finally, the most important results of hydrogeological research regarding climate change adaptation in the Danube-Tisza Interfluve and Sárköz region were presented. After the presentations and Q&A session, the participants had the opportunity to network and share experiences about municipal water management during an informal lunch.
